SCM BJJ Instructor Bios:

Alex Ross Alliance Brown Belt started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2003. Alex received his purple belt after living, training, and competing in SJC Brasil for 3 years under Grand Master Asvaldo Alves. Since 2009, Alex has been living in Northern California, where he opened and taught full-time at his own academy. In 2011 Alex joined Alliance Jiu-Jitsu, under the tutelage of Professor Mitch Coats (Alexandre Paiva). Shortly after joining Alliance Alex received his brown belt. He continues to travel the world in order to train, learn, and compete. Alex strives to learn and teach new techniques to better his own Jiu-Jitsu and the Jiu-Jitsu of his students. Alex’s goal is to provide the San Lorenzo Valley a place where all people can better their health, fitness, and Jiu-Jitsu in a safe and including atmosphere.

  • 2014 IBJJF San Francisco Open: Super-Heavy Weight (Master) Brown Belt 3rd Place
  • 2013 U.S. Open: Super-Heavy Weight (Master) Brown Belt Champion
  • 2013 Las Vegas Open: Open Class (Master) Brown Belt Silver Medalist
  • 2013 Las Vegas Open: Super-Heavy Weight (Master) Brown Belt Champion
  • 2012 U.S. Open: Super-Heavy Weight (Adult) Brown Belt Champion
  • 2011 U.S. Open: Super-Heavy Weight (Adult) Brown Belt 3rd Place
  • Certified Alliance Jiu Jitsu Phase 1 Instructor
